Once upon a time there was a boy, his name was Gulliver. He lived in a small town in England. He was orphan and he lived with his three brothers. He worked in the countryside because his brothers were young children.
by Eleonora Maino
Every day, Gulliver had to earn money to buy some bread for his brothers. But the only baker in the city was a very scary man, and he didn’t want to sell bread to Gulliver because of his poverty. The baker’s name was Sam and everybody in town knew that Sam wanted to expel poor citizens. This sad idea had come up to Sam’s head because, a long time before, some poor children had decided to steal his bread and offer it to all poor families in the city.

Gulliver and his brothers were starving, he could not tolerate that, so he started thinking of a revenge. He started talking to all the other poor people in his town, asking them to meet in front of Sam’s bakery at noon. “Bring all your grain with you” he said. They were a lot of people, they were all farmers, they were poor but they had a lot of grain. That night they forced the entry to Sam’s bakery.

When Sam saw all these people he was very worried, he knew that all of them where poor people that he hadn’t helped in the past, so he decided to go away. So all the poor came inside and stole all the bread, so Gulliver could bring bread home for many days, so his brothers could eat. And the baker never came back to the small town.
