Interpreter for a Wedding at the Embassy of Panama in Rome

It has been a real pleasure to serve as English to Spanish interpreter this morning at the Embassy of Panama in Rome, for the celebration of the first wedding that has ever taken place at this embassy.

There was quite a lot of emotion in the air for the bride and groom, and the Minister Counsellor reserved for them a warm welcome. It was a really international civil wedding, since the bride was from Panama and the groom from Nigeria, and the wedding was celebrated in Italy at the Panama Embassy.

For this reason, it was necessary for them to call a Spanish to English interpreter for the civil wedding in Rome, so that the groom and the witnesses could understand the declaration of the solemn deed.

¿Is it necessary to hire a professional and qualified interpreter for the wedding?

The Embassy of Panama requires the interpreter to submit proof of qualification for the job, and I was glad to show my recently acquired Qualified Member card of AITI, the Italian Association of Translator and Interpreters.

It was an honour for me to take part as Spanish to English interpreter in the celebration of this civil wedding in Rome. Moreover, the palace of the Embassy of Panama to Italy is located in the historical old town of Rome, in Largo di Torre Argentina. That means it is right next to an archaeological site were ancient Roman columns and ruins can be seen. The palace was the perfect frame for the celebration of a civil wedding, with its magnificent staircase decorated with marbles of different colours and imposing marble columns. It was really splendid.

¡Congratulations to the just married!
