Sworn translations for a 1948 case in Rome

FAQ: My husband is preparing a 1948 case to be heard in the court in L’Aquila.

We have a number of documents which will need to have sworn translations from English to Italian.

Please let me know an estimate of what you would charge for this service and a general timeframe of how long it would take. Each of the document is apostilled, typrewritten and less than 4 pages each.

Here is a list of the certified, apostilled documents:

  • 3 Birth Certificates
  • 2 Marriage Certificates
  • 4 Death Certificates
  • 1 Naturalization Petition
  • 2 Negative Search Letters from NARA Regional Offices
  • 1 Negative Search Letter from Monroe County Clerk in NY
  • 1 CoNE from USCIS.

General calculation for the sworn translation quote:

Answer: Dear Client, thank you for your enquiry.

I confirm that I am an official sworn translator accredited with the Court of Rome. You can find proof of my accreditation at the following link.

For a comprehensive quote I need to receive the scanned copies of your documents. In general terms, the quote is calculated as follows:

  • Cost of the translation per page depending on the length of the written text.
  • €16 or €32 revenue stamp on each document, depending on the length of the text.
  • Cost for my oath at the Court of Rome.
  • Shipping expenses to send you the sworn translations to an address in Italy or Europe via registered mail.
  • €2 revenue stamp on my invoice.

I will need the original documents to be sent to my address in Rome, via dell’Assunzione 65.

After receiving the documents, I will need 1 to 2 weeks to complete the sworn translation process and send you the documents back. I need your name, surname, address, and tax identification number to issue my invoice.  I can accept payments via PayPal or bank transfer.

Please feel free to ask for any clarification.
